Success Stories – Right Before Closing Shock!

I just got home a few minutes ago. It is around 9:15 p.m. We have a closing on this house in Roswell. The seller calls me in a panic.

“Hey Kami, uh, sorry for the late call. The roof just leaked. We have tickets to leave GA tomorrow and we can not have a delayed closing. What do we do”? The seller asks with a very nervous tone.

“Give me a few minutes. I will call you back in a bit. Just hang in there tight.”, I respond, sounding calm and confident.

I pick up the phone and call the buyers’ agent.

“Hey Jackie, Kami here. Sorry for the late call. I am excited for your buyers and can’t wait to see you tomorrow. Curious. What are the buyers going to do to the house after closing?” I ask with excitement.

“Oh hey, Kami. They are going to paint the inside, finish the basement, and change the roof”. She responds.

“That sounds lovely. Please do send me the pics after they do these things. Love to see what they will do the place.” I express.

I hang up with Jackie and call the seller.

“Hey, Bob. Listen. Do not want worry about it. Just come to closing.” I tell Bob in a very relaxed tone.

“What do we need to do?” My client asks, still sounding nervous.

“I will handle it when the agent calls during the walk through.”

We closed successfully and the sellers moved to Canada. I am still in touch with them after about 15 years.
